Tops Participates in Hurricane Relief, Raising $25,262.24!

The funds will be sent down to help those affected by the hurricane in Puerto Rico. This arm of the relief drive was co-sponsored by WGRZ-TV, WBLK and the Salvation Army!

In what is one of the worst hurricane seasons in the last decade, Tops stepped up on September 8th after Hurricane Harvey and Irma swept through Texas and Florida. With the devastation in both states, TOPS teamed up with 7 Eyewitness News, 97 Rock, Edge and WHTT radio in Buffalo to collect food, money and cleaning supplies at #041, #220 and #236 to support those affected by the devastation. All stores also collected cash, and when all was said and done, we raised more than $23,000 and four trailers of product. Money was donated to Feeding America which then designated funds to the areas that needed it most. Food was brought to the Treasure Coast Food Bank in Ft. Pierce, Florida and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida in Orlando.

From Tuesday 9/26 until Thursday 10/5, Tops #113 held an in-store Hurricane Relief donation drive, asking customers to donate essential items to Puerto Rico.
CSM, Demetrius Grant, came up with the idea and the Belle Center was able to coordinate transportation of the donations.
Ops Manager, Shirley Cruz and Demetrius Grant.
HR manager, Sheila Cintron along with Shirley Cruz and Demetrius Grant.
So far 3 bins of products have been collected at Tops #113 which will all be making there way to Puerto Rico to assist the Hurricane victims.

Thanks to everyone for your support and for truly showing that we are all Neighbors Helping Neighbors!
